Shen Changyu Meets DKPTO Director General and Danish Ambassador to China

Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) recently met Sune Stampe Sørensen, Director General of the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) and Thomas Østrup Møller, Ambassador of Denmark to China. The two sides made profound discussions on the IP strategies and latest work progress of the two countries as well as IP issues of common concern.

Shen said that the Chinese government has been attaching great importance to IP protection and President Xi Jinping has given important instructions on it for several times. In recent years, the CNIPA has maintained close ties with the DKPTO and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in China and deepened our cooperation. The two sides are expected to enhance communication and carry out more pragmatic cooperation projects on green technology, sustainable development and other important topics to better serve the scientific and technological innovation and economic development of the two countries.

Sørensen said that the DKPTO and CNIPA have achieved a series of fruitful cooperation for years, contributing to the improvement of the IP environment in two countries. He wished the two offices could work together and provide better services for innovators of the two countries.

Møller appreciated the DKPTO-CNIPA cooperative results in the past years and wished the IP offices of the two countries could keep close cooperation and cope with new challenges in the IP field together.

After the meeting, the CNIPA and DKPTO signed a joint statement of intent for the extension of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program.
